USC – Full box for Action Express at Road America

A few hours after announcing the renewal of its program in 2016 with its two crews, the Action Express Racing team perfectly mastered the Road America (Wisconsin) event.

Both Curran's No. 31 DP Corvette? Cameron and Barbosa's No. 5? Fittipaldi offered the double to Bob Johnson's team. Starting from pole position, the Riley-Ford DP of Joey Hand and Scott Pruett (Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates) completed the podium in the Prototypes category, after experiencing mechanical problems at the start of the race.

The fight was fierce in the other categories. In PC, the No. 09 Oreca FLM11 of RSR Racing by Bruno Junqueira and Chris Cumming wins at the very end of the event after pushing the No. 38 of Performance Tech Motorsports of Conor Daly and James French into error. Colin Braun and Jon Bennett complete the top three in the CORE Autosport car.

In GTLM, la Porsche 911 RSR n°911 of Porsche North America by Patrick Pilet and Nick Tandy dominated the event after qualifying complicated by engine problems. The fight for second place provided real suspense until the checkered flag. Jörg Bergmeister finally gave the German brand a double, after a tough battle against Pierre Kaffer (Ferrari 458 Italy? Risi Competizione) in the final loop.

In GTD, Jeroen Bleekemolen and Ben Keating prevail over the Viper SRT GT3-R n°33 of Riley Motorsports ahead of the Wittmer duo? Nielsen (Aston Martin ? TRG-AMR) and the Porsche 911 GT America from Park Place Motorsports in Pumpelly? Lindsey.
