The duo Joey Hand – Scott Pruett will start this evening in pole position for the Road America event in the United Sportscar Championship. Porsche took pole in GTLM.

USC – Joey Hand places Ganassi on pole at Road America

On the route of Road America in Wisconsin, the Riley-Ford DP n°01 of Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates entrusted for qualifying to Joey Hand, dominated the Corvette DP contingent to take pole position for this ninth meeting of the USC season.

With a reference time established in 1'56″452, Hand is more than five tenths ahead of the No. 5 Corvette DP of the Barbosa pair? Fittipaldi, renewed for 2016 at Action Express Racing. The second row of the grid will also be 100% Corvette with the cars of championship leaders Richard Westbrook? Michael Valiante (VisitFlorida.com Racing) and Ricky and Jordan Taylor (Wayne Taylor Racing).

John Pew and Ozz Negri Jr place the Ligier JS P2? Honda of Michael Shank Racing with Curb/Agajanian on the third row alongside the DeltaWing of Memo Rojas and Katherine Legge. In PC, the best time went to the No. 09 Oreca FLM38 from Performance Tech Motorsports by James French, the latter signing his third pole in the last four events.

In GTD, Spencer Pumpelly and Patrick Lindsey (Porsche 911 GT America) allowed Park Place Motorsports to take pole ahead of the Viper SRT GT3-R of Ben Keating and Jeroen Bleekemolen (Riley Motorsports). The race will start at 21 p.m.
