USC – Michael Shank Racing switches to the Ligier JS P2

After Krohn Racing, it is the turn of Michael Shank Racing to succumb to the Ligier JS P2 for the next USC season. As announced in the 1982 issue of AUTOhebdo, the team which finished in sixth place in the Teams' Championship was won over by the performance of the LMP2 produced by Onroak Automotive. The Ligier JS P2 entered by G-Drive Racing in WEC and its recent category victories in Fuji (Japan) and Shanghai (China) have convinced the American structure which will retain its drivers John Gew and Oswaldo Negri Jr.

“The realization of this agreement with MSR on the sale of a Ligier JS P2 is a real satisfaction for Onroak Automotive”, confirmed Jacques Nicolet, President of Onroak Automotive. “MSR is one of the most established and recognized endurance teams in the United States. That they chose us for their move to LM P2 is for us a real reward for all the efforts we have made this year to make ourselves known on American territory. I wish MSR every success in this new page of their history and we will do everything to support them in this new adventure. »
