USC – PR1/ Mathiasen Motorsports unveils its crew

PR1/ Mathiasen Motorsports has chosen to retain Michael Guasch by making it evolve alongside the rookie Andrew Novich on the Oreca 09 FLM n°52. Although the team has good experience in the category, it nevertheless remains reserved on its objectives for 2015.

“This will be our sixth year in PC but that doesn’t mean we can rest on our knowledge”, underlined Bobby Oergel, the owner of the stable. « The technical package has changes in terms of ride height, air intake flange, revised camshafts, and greater aero downforce on certain circuits. Success will lie in our ability to adapt as quickly as possible to these changes in order to find the last tenths to evolve at the forefront. »

PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports will be able to count on the experience of Michael Guasch with whom the team won the title Drivers in the PC category in ALMS at the end of the 2013 season. “We won the title the last time we had a full season. It seems like a long time ago and I can't wait to start the season. The changes should be beneficial in PC. »

Andrew Novich will have little time to get his bearings, with the 24 Hours of Daytona (Florida) being contested on January 24 and 25. But the rookie stood out last year by finishing vice-champion of theIMSA Cooper Tires Prototypes Lites. “I got used to managing the power and the level of aero downforce. This makes the transition to the PC much simpler. They are dream cars to drive but you have to have guts in the fast corners”, recognized the 22-year-old American. “Our testing in Buttonwillow (California) went perfectly and I immediately got on well with the staff. »
