USCC – Michelin supplier of tires in the GTLM category in 2014 and 2015

Yesterday, theIMSA (the association that runs the USCC. Ed.) announced the signing of a partnership with Michelin. This will be valid for two years starting next season. Scott Atherton, the president of IMSA, congratulated the French manufacturer.

“Michelin’s track record in endurance speaks for itself. After what the manufacturer brought to the American Le Mans Series for several years, we can only be proud to welcome Michelin to USCC,” declared the former boss of the ALMS, Scott Atherton.

For the inaugural season of the USCC championship, born from the merger of ALMS and Grand-AM, Michelin will supply Corvette Racing, the BMWs of Team RLL, Risi Competizione, SRT Motorsports, Aston Martin Racing and the team Porsche North America, all entered in the GTLM category.

Continental, which brought new tires for DP cars this week (see here), remains the exclusive supplier of the Daytona Prototypes and LMP2 categories. Remember that Dunlop has stopped supplying its tires in the major endurance championship in the United States at the end of 2012.
