USCC – Muscle Milk Pickett with an ORECA 03-Nissan

The end of the P1 series, abolished byIMSA, had forced the Muscle Milk Pickett Racing team to review all its plans for 2014. In the end, the outgoing double champions in ALMS will be there in USCC with a Nissan-ORECA 03 P2, which notably shone last year in the LMP2 category in WEC, the FIA World Endurance Championship.

“It is very exciting for us to welcome ORECA as a new partner. » explains Greg Pickett, owner of the stable. “Having won the ALMS P1 championship for the past two years, it was important to choose a partner for the new TUDOR USCC adventure who can help us continue the streak of success we are experiencing. Our victories over the past two years are due to our work in very close collaboration with our various partners, whether HPD (Editor’s note: Honda Performance Development) or even Michelin. Our commitment alongside ORECA will be identical. Hugues de Chaunac shares the same vision of racing as me in the United States, and that is very important. When you have this passion, this level of involvement, only good can come from such a collaboration. In the end, it was an easy decision for us to make. »

The No. 6 Muscle Milk Pickett Racing will be the only chassis to represent the ORECA team, but Hugues de Chaunac wants to use it as a showcase. “Our goal is clear: to win the classics like Daytona, Sebring or Petit Le Mans, as constructor. » explains the Frenchman. “We are working to have other 03 chassis on track in the United States, in addition to the ORECA-FLM09 which are entered in the Prototype Challenge. 14 years after our victory with the Viper GTS, I can't wait to see our cars again at Daytona. This is a new stage for our American development. »

The arrival of the French P2 brings to 13 the number of Prototypes which will compete in the 24 Hours of Daytona on January 25 and 26. There are six DP (Daytona Proto), six P2, and the famous DeltaWing. At the wheel of the ORECA, we will find Klaus Graf who said “I can't wait to get back to the Nissan V8 which has already won so many races in the past. » He will team up with Lucas Luhr and will start at Daytona from the tests from January 3 to 5 during the ROAR Before the 24 on the Florida circuit.
