USCC – Rockenfeller returns to the 24 Hours of Daytona

Mike Rockenfeller will once again compete in the 24 Hours of Daytona on January 25 and 26. The 30-year-old German will be at the wheel of the Corvette DP entered by the Spirit of Daytona Racing who have retained Richard Westbrook and Michael Valiante as starting drivers for the full season. This will not be the first time that the reigning champion of DTM disputera l’épreuve floridienne puisqu’il a terminé au pied du podium l’an dernier avec Action Express Racing, un an après avoir défendu les couleurs du Flying Lizard Motorsports sur une Porsche 997 GT3 Cup.

Spirit of Daytona Racing has a very good crew. The association between the Briton who defended the interests of Corvette Racing last year and the Canadian has already proven fruitful last year as evidenced by the victory obtained by the crew at Mid-Ohio. “He (Michael Valiante) and Westy (Richard Westbrook) work very well together”, underlines Troy Flis, the owner of the stable. “ Changes in engineering should not only make us more competitive. We should become title contenders with our Corvette DP in VisitFlorida.com colors. With new tracks, new rules and new races, we're going to have a ton of new challenges to face this year. We want to maximize every opportunity and this crew will be essential to achieve that. »
