The Belgian driver explains his commitment and his desire to win: “ A victory is the one and only thing we want. Finishing second is already a defeat. It is with this approach that we run ».

“I guess everyone saw the result of the 24 Hours of Daytona. Yes, I'm still totally disgusted. I had to dig deep within myself during this final stint and I tried everything I could, but unfortunately, it wasn't enough.

Opportunities to win big races like Daytona don't come around very often, so when they do, you have to put it all on the line."

The Belgian put his disappointment aside to greet his opponent as soon as the cars arrived at the parc ferme. A sign of respect between the two men who defend common interests, those of the German brand. « The battle I had with Mathieu was exceptional. I have absolutely no hard feelings. Our piloting was muscular. But both with 100% passion.

The only thing that makes me happy today is reading all the comments from racing fans around the world, celebrating our duel and describing it as one of the best of all time. Congratulations Mathieu, his teammates and the team of Porsche No. 9. It was an honor. »

In the KCMG team press release, founder and team manager speak.

Matt Howson, team leader, is aware of the work being done and expresses his pride: “ Finishing on the podium is beyond my expectations. The fact that we almost won the race is a testament to our hard work. Everyone in the team gave their all (…) They left nothing behind, as Laurens' efforts at the end of the race showed.»

KCMG founder Paul Ip follows the thoughts of his team manager: “ To be able to come to Daytona and immediately be competitive is fantastic. (…), we will leave Daytona with a positive spirit, and we are proud of our performance.»
