New year, new plans. Always engaged in IMSA, WeatherTech Racing will discover GTLM. So far in GTD with Ferrari 488 GT3, the American entity will evolve in the higher category.
In GTLM next season, WeatherTech Racing will enter a Porsche 911 RSR. The operation of the latter will be managed by Proton Racing which is involved full-time in the North American championship. The agreement between the two parties also concerns participation in the next 24 Hours of Le Mans in GTE Pro.
Confirmed at WeatherTech Racing, Cooper MacNeil will be accompanied by Richard Lietz, Kevin Estre and Gianmaria Bruni at the 24 Hours of Daytona, the scene of the team's GTLM debut (January 30-31).
« We thought a lot about this change, responded Cooper MacNeil. I have already been able to taste this level of competition twice (GTE Pro/GTLM) including once at the last 24 Hours of Le Mans and I felt comfortable with the extra power. We meet Porsche again and I can't wait to get behind the wheel of the 911 RSR ».
