As a prelude to the legendary raceEnduranceRoad to Le Mans (RTLM) 2026 will bring together 58 crews on June 12th on the legendary circuit of 24 Hours of Le MansFor its tenth year, the event is changing its format, with the usual two one-hour contests giving way to a single three-hour confrontation.
At the start on the Sarthe circuit, 26 participants are expected in LMP3, 15 in LMP3 Pro/Am, and 17 in GT3, for a total of 58 crews, including twelve French drivers. While 45 cars are regulars in the championship, 13 guest entries will add some spice to the event.
LMP3
Among the 25 Silver and Gold entries in the LMP3 category are the winners of the last edition, 23Events Racing and CLX Motorsport. Each will field a pair of Ligier JS P325-ToyotaThe Swiss team will be able to count on the expertise of the winner of the 2023 edition, David Droux, on the No. 97 while Matt Bell, also winner of that year, will drive the No. 4 of Nielsen Racing Duqueine.
While R-ace GP will field two Duqueine D09s, ANS Motorport, Brutal Fish Campos Motorsport, and Forestier Racing have each opted for two Ligier JS P325s. The rest of the field will be split between Duqueine entries from Nielsen Racing, BWT Muecke Motorsport, and Steller Motorsport, and Ligier entries from Vector Sport RLR, High Class Racing, Trajectus Motorsport, Bretton Racing, Inter Europol Competition, M Racing, Team Virage, and More Motorsport.
LMP3 Pro / Am
In LMP3 Pro/Am, Rinaldi Racing will defend its trophy won in 2025 with two Ligier JS P325s, including the No. 71 entrusted to the winning duo in 2025, Stefan Aust and Felipe Fernandez-Laser.
Facing them are the four-time winners of the event, DKR Engineering, who have entered only one car this year for last year's LMP3 Pro/AM winner, Anti Rammo. Having already won with three different manufacturers (Norma in 2017 and 2019, Duqueine in 2020, and Ginetta in 2025), the Luxembourg-based team will attempt to repeat the feat with a fourth manufacturer: Ligier.
Also noteworthy is the presence of Oskar Kristensen in the sole Ligier of Racing Spirit of Léman (winner in 2022) and the highly anticipated debut of film star Ajith Kumar in the #16 Ajith Redant by Virage. In this category, Ligier has a complete monopoly, as all 15 entrants have opted for the French manufacturer in LMP3 Pro/Am.
GT3
The GT3 grid comprises 17 cars from six different manufacturers: Aston Martin (3 wins) BMW (2), Classic Ferrari for sale (7) McLaren, Mercedes Benz-AMG (2) and Porsche (2). Dominant last year, Getspeed returns with the same crew, Steve Jans and Anthony Bartone thus taking the wheel of the Mercedes No. 14.
Ferrari will be the best-represented brand in the category, with six examples of the 296 GT3 (standard and Evo). Four will be run by the AF Corse team, while Kessel Racing (winner in 2024 with Frédéric Jousset) and Biogas Motorsport complete the Maranello firm's lineup.
Aston Martin will field four Vantage AMR GT3 Evos, split between Blackthorne, Code Racing Development, and Racing Spirit of Léman. The sole BMW on the grid will be run by WRT, while the two Porsche 911s will carry the colors of High Class Racing and Dinamic GT.
The only manufacturer to have never won RTLM, McLaren will be doubly represented on track with a 720 GT3 Evo operated by SMC Motorsport and another by United Autosports.
