The ADESS AD25, the new LM P3 ready to devour the track

Thanks to regulations giving pride of place to driving pleasure and cost control, the LMP3 category has found its place in the racing pyramid.Endurance. Based in Portugal, ADESS was part of the first pool of six manufacturers selected to develop a prototype meeting these regulations. With LMP2 standard chassis and a unique 8 hp Nissan V420 engine, the LMP3s were able to bring together gentlemen drivers on the track looking for the best compromise between pleasure and cost and young, long-toothed guns eager to find a place in the sun of the race. 'Modern endurance.

As proof, the power of the LMP3s was increased in 2020, while four manufacturers remained in the running: Ligier, Duqueine, Ginetta and of course ADESS.

Following the cessation of production of the VK56 engine by Nissan, the ACO has published a call for tenders for the LMP3 engine for the period 2025-2029, taking into account important criteria for the future of the category , such as performance, fuel economy, noise reduction and cost control. The original Oreca biturbo V6 block Toyota developing 460 hp was selected, forcing manufacturers to design new prototypes adapted to this technical choice.

A new rear body kit

The ADESS AD25 takes up the basis that made its predecessor successful. She is eligible in ELMS and Michelin Le Mans Cup from 2025 before joining the grids later IMSA, Prototype Cup Germany, Ultimate, etc. The most significant development concerns the cooling system adapted to the new turbo engine. The prototype adopts a new rear body kit intended to optimize block cooling. A debugging is planned in the coming days in Estoril (Portugal) before beginning an intense test campaign in the coming weeks.

“For this new generation of LMP3, it was necessary to integrate a turbo engine that requires a lot of cooling, confirms Stéphane Chosse, general manager of ADESS AG. Our work focused primarily on making the new powertrain more reliable. It was therefore necessary to “open” the bodywork, but without increasing aerodynamic drag. The rear body of the ADESS AD25 is completely new. Finally, we have integrated new 5-way shock absorbers which will allow us to broaden the range of adjustment possibilities and increase driving comfort, a guarantee of efficiency on the track. »
