After developing several racing cars ranging from car (Ligier JS F3...) to GT (Ligier JS2 R...) and also sports prototypes (Ligier JS P4...), the Nivernais manufacturer has chosen to present its new activity, the creation of a unique model, the Ligier JS PX. It is on the Magny-Cours circuit that Ligier Automotive has decided to unveil its latest model. Made entirely of carbon, it is equipped with a twin-turbo V6 engine which develops 825 horsepower and weighs 910 kilos on the scale. The French manufacturer indicates that the latter can reach 346 km/h on the circuit of 24 Hours of Le Mans by achieving a theoretical lap of 3'19″00.

“With this car we wanted to celebrate the three overall victories in the American championship IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar at the 24 Hours of Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring and Petit Le Mans in 2016 with the Ligier JS P2, explains Pierre Nicolet, General Director of Ligier Automotive. We are the first manufacturer since Ferrari in 1998 to have achieved this hat-trick in the same year. We had to mark the occasion! The Ligier JS PX is a synthesis of our know-how, French excellence. An ultimate sports prototype which takes up the codes of the LMP and DPi categories which will be replaced by Hypercars, but without any limit. We have freed ourselves from all existing regulations. We were also able to draw on the skills developed over several years alongside major manufacturers to design and manufacture their concept cars. »
