It was the last vestige of the Audi LMDh project, sacrificed on the altar of the future arrival in Formula 1 in 2026. A few weeks after the departure of René Rast from the firm with the rings to another LMDh program, that of BMW, Nico Mueller also made the decision to leave Ingolstadt. “Just like René Rast, Nico Mueller was originally intended to become a pilot for our LMDh project, explains Rolf Michl, Head of Audi Motorsport. Nico prepared intensively for the prototype races in the LM P2 category (with Vector Sport.
