At the finish of the 24 Hours of Daytona on Sunday, Nick Tandy made historyEndurance. Winner of the Florida event aboard the Porsche #7, alongside Laurens Vanthoor and Felipe Nasr, the Briton won the last major trophy he was missing from his collection. Indeed, the 40-year-old driver accomplished a historic feat: winning the four biggest Endurance races in the world in the premier categories, namely the 24H of Le Mans (in 2015), the 24 Hours of Nürburgring (in 2018), the 24 Hours of Spa (in 2020) and therefore, the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2025. Four victories acquired with a single manufacturer: Porsche.
“I am very proud to have won this race with Porsche. The last time I stood on the top step of the podium at Daytona was eleven years ago – back then in the GT class, with a red and white Porsche, and this time again with a red and white Porsche. Three years of hard work have brought us here. We did it all together., he rejoiced at the finish of the 24 Hours of Daytona, before returning to his historic feat. A few years ago, someone told me that no one had ever managed to win the overall standings in the four major 24-hour races. Since that day, that goal has been in the back of my mind. Today, it has been achieved. It's great to be the first person to achieve such a thing."
The harvest of the four trophies began in 2015 with the victory in the most prestigious Endurance race in the world: the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Nick Tandy, then accompanied by Nico Hulkenberg and Earl Bamber, won in the Porsche 919 Hybrid n°19 in a tough LM P1 category, against Toyota and Audi. Three years later, the Briton took his second overall victory in a 24-hour race at the 24 Nürburgring 2018 Hours, in the green and yellow Porsche 911 of the Manthey team alongside Frédéric Makowiecki, Patrick Pilet and Richard Lietz.
Nick Tandy then won the 24 Hours of Spa in 2020, postponed to October due to Covid, once again in the Porsche 911 GT3 R but this time that of the Rowe Racing team, in the company of Earl Bamber and Laurens Vanthoor. Finally, in 2025, it was in the Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 that the English driver won his latest trophy, at the 24 Hours of Daytona, in the GTP category with Laurens Vanthoor – again – and Felipe Nasr.
