In the image of Ferrari ou Porsche, BMW a également décidé de faire son grand retour en Endurance. This will be done through the new category: LMDh. In 2023, the manufacturer will make its debut at the 24 Hours of Daytona before heading to the 24 Hours of Le Mans later.
In the meantime, BMW continues the development of its prototype under the supervision of Andreas Roos, successor to Mike Krack at the head of BMW M Motorsport. During the 6e episode of the series “ Mbedded », the German firm invites us to follow the new strong man of its sports department during his first race (12 Hours of Sebring) but also the manufacturing process of the power unit of its LMDh under the tutelage of Ulrich Schulz (head of conception) a little over 6 months from its entry into the running.
Note that the powertrain of BMW's LMDh would have been switched on for the first time on March 30 and should be shipped to the United States by November.
