  • The positions begin to solidify at the 1812 km of Qatar, the opening round of the world championshipEndurance FIA 2024.
  • La Porsche 963 n°6 shared by Kevin Estre, Laurens Vanthoor, and André Lotterer still leads the debates in the Losail desert.
  • The official 963 operated by Penske is around thirty seconds ahead of the Peugeot 9X8 n°93 (Mikkel Jensen-Nico Mueller-Jean-Eric Vergne), which led at the start of the event.
  • The other Penske Motorsport Porsche, the No. 5 entrusted to pole sitter Matt Campbell, Michael Christensen and Frédéric Makowiecki, completes the Top 3.
  • Discreet since the kick-off, the Toyota No. 7 and No. 8 moved up to seventh and ninth position. The GR010 – Hybrid are clearly evolving on a strategy that is different from their Hypercar rivals.
  • Involved in contact with the Peugeot n°94 at the start, the Cadillac n°2 of Sébastien Bourdais-Earl Bamber-Alex Lynn was inserted between the two Japanese Hypercars (8th). The Frenchman is currently behind the wheel.
  • The Alpine A424 continues to run smoothly. Thanks to the pit stops, the No. 35 of Charles Milesi, Ferdinand Habsburg and Paul-Loup Chatin was in 5th position at the end of the third hour of the race.
  • In the second half of the Hypercar table, the BMW M Hybrid V8s operate in a tight formation but far from the front (15th and 16th).
  • Complicated race for Ferrari Official 499P. The #50 was hit with a drive-through for crossing the line when leaving the pits, while the #51 lost its entire rear wing after contact with a McLaren GT3.
  • Newcomers Lamborghini and Isotta Fraschini continue to bring up the rear in what looks more like a full-scale test.

Porsche also leader in LMGT3

  • Leading the LMGT3 category since the first hour of the race, the No. 911 Porsche 3 GT92 R fielded by Manthey PureRxcing (Aliaksandr Malykhin-Joel Sturm-Klaus Bachler) continues to evolve at the controls of its class.
  • The No. 06 Corvette Z81R of poleman Tom Van Rompuy, associated with Rui Andrade, and Charlie Eastwood, lost a large handful of minutes in the pits to replace the gearbox electronics.
