The hours pass and look the same. The ranking hardly changed in this fourth hour of racing over these 1812 km of Qatar, the opening round of the 2024 season of WEC. At the front we find the Porsche 963 n°6, who has been leading the race for more than two hours now. It is André Lotterer who is at the wheel of the leading 963, with more than thirty seconds ahead of the Peugeot No. 93 by Jean-Éric Vergne, still 2nd. The Top 3 is completed by another Porsche, the No. 12 Hertz Team JOTA driven by Norman Nato.

On the French side, apart from the Peugeot n°93 in second place, the three other French Hypercars are in the soft underbelly of the ranking. The Peugeot n°94 of Loïc duval, still on an offbeat strategy, yo-yoed between 8th place and 17th place depending on the pit stops. Both Alpine are further down the rankings, with No. 36 in 12th place and No. 35 in 13th place.

In LMGT3, it is also a Porsche which leads the way: the Porsche 911 GT3 R n°92 from the Manthey PureRxcing team does not give up control of the race. Aliaksandr Malykhin is around thirty seconds ahead of the Ferrari n°54 by Davide Rigon. The Top 4 is completed by the other two Ferrari and Porsche, while Valentino Rossi (BMW Team WRT no. 46) is in 5th place in the category for its first stint in the WEC. Dorian Pin (Lamborghini Iron Dames #85) also took the wheel and is currently ranked 9th in LMGT3.
