Audi has just lost its second car, the No. 18 R1, following the violent accident of Mike Rockenfeller who had just taken second place.

23 p.m.: More than one Audi in the race

Mike Rockenfeller was cut off by a Ferrari in the curve preceding the Indianapolis bend. The No. 1 Audi driver had just seized second place by taking over Marc Gené, driver of the No. 908 7. The German?s state of health is reassuring according to initial information.

There is now only one Audi left in the race, the No. 18 R2 currently driven by André Lotterer, who retains the lead in the race ahead of Marc Gené. Sebastian Bourdais occupies third place at the wheel of the No. 908 9, ahead of the No. 8 of Franck Montagny. The 908 HDI FAP Oreca from Nicolas lapierre is now fifth.

Alexandre Prémat retains the lead in LMP2 at the wheel of his No. 03 Oreca 48 Nissan, one lap ahead of the No. 41 Greaves Motorsport Zytek Nissan, currently driven by Tom Kimber-Smith.

Corvette retains the lead in GTE Pro with the No. 74 of Oliver Gavin, who is ahead of Jaime Melo, driver of the Luxury Racing Ferrari 458 Italia.
