24 hours: Moreau close to the top ten

Guillaume Moreau makes his return to LMP1 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. After finishing in second place in LMP2 last year, the Frenchman is continuing his commitment to the OAK Racing team for his fifth participation in the Le Mans double round of the clock. He distinguished himself by setting the best time for the crew (with Monteiro and Ragues).

The OAK Racing driver focuses on the difficulty of completing a fast lap with traffic. “It?s not easy to have a clear turn”, commented Guillaume Maureau after qualifying. “However, I still managed to do a lap without traffic, which allowed me to lap in 3:34:933 (+9:195), the fourth fastest time for the “Essence” prototypes. I am happy with this result, because you also have to have a bit of success. »

Guillaume Moreau adds that the Pescarolo-Judd n°15 is well adjusted, even if details could have further increased the pace of the prototype. “The car is well balanced, although we had a slight understeer. I know we could do even better, but we didn't have enough time to fine-tune the car's settings. We must not forget that this is our first real outing with the 2011 developments and we are still lacking in driving. Despite this, we are on the right track. The potential is there and there. »
