24 Hours of Le Mans 2021 – The 62 known entrants

If the list of entrants for the next 24 Hours of Le Mans (August 21-22) was revealed on Tuesday March 9 and not Monday March 1 as was expected, it is quite simply because the next edition was postponed until at least August, which pushed the ACO to reopen the commitments and to leave until Monday March 8 at 12:00 p.m. the possibility for registrants to withdraw… which none of them did, thanks to the flexibility of the various promoters.

Sixty-two entries have been revealed, with a perfect Prototype-GT equality – if we take into account the innovative car, namely the No. 07 Oreca 84 from Association SRT41 – with five Hypercars, 25 LM P2s (11 Pro/Am), seven GTE Pro and 24 GTE Am.

No big surprises, but let's note the presence in LM P2 of an Oreca 07 fielded by Risi Competizione, usual armed wing of Ferrari in GT. As a reminder, the Texan dealership's last appearance in a prototype – in 1998 with a Ferrari 333 SP – resulted in a victory in LM P1 along with an eighth place overall.

Title holder in LM P2, United Autosports will be the best represented competitor in the category with three cars... as many as Algarve Pro Racing, which is behind G-Drive Racing and Racing Team India. For its debut in Sarthe, WRT will cover two Oreca 07s with very high quality trios.

In GTE Pro, we will be delighted with the presence of WeatherTech Racing, which increases the contingent to three Porsche 911 RSR-19 present in the category. As for the Corvette C8.Rs, they will finally make their first appearance in Sarthe.

The originality of this list lies in the absence of substitutes. Worrying? Not necessarily, the ACO having already received requests for invitations once the deadline has passed from competitors who have either not managed to bring together all the elements in time, or who finally find themselves able to come following the postponement of the test.
