24 Hours of Le Mans – GPX Racing declines its invitation

Winner of the 24 Spa 2019 Hours and the 24 Dubai 2021 Hours, the GPX Racing team won the honorary title of Asian vice-champion last Saturday Le Mans Series in the GT category.

A ranking that she owes to the good performances of her trio Julien Andlauer-Axcil Jefferies-Alain Ferté, aligned with the Porsche 911 GT3 R n°40. Together, in four races, the three men scored two victories and a second place, but contact at the start of the final cost them the coronation.

However, with an invitation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans awarded to the top four in the GT standings, GPX Racing was handed an entry, as were Precote Herbert Motorsport, Rinaldi Racing and Inception Racing with Optimum Motorsport. But perfectionist, the team based at the Dubai Autodrome preferred to decline the invitation.

« Today, we still have the ambition to ultimately participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Pierre-Brice Ména, the main team member of GPX Racing, told us. But for various reasons, and in particular the fact that we consider the deadlines too short and that we do not have the appropriate package, we believe that everything is not in place to go there this year in optimal conditions. »

A wisdom that honors GPX Racing, which should still have many opportunities to thrill us this year.
