24 Hours of Le Mans – IDEC Sport unveils its second crew

The LM P2 category will welcome not one but two Oreca 07 – IDEC Sport on September 19 and 20 for the 2020 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Placed on the reserve list when the entrants were revealed last February, the No. 2 LM P17 from Patrice Lafargue's team will finally benefit from various withdrawals to join the starting grid.

For the occasion, the Var prototype will be entrusted to the drivers of Era Motorsport, aligned in IMSA, Kyle Tilley and Dwight Merriman, associated in Sarthe with Jonathan Kennard.

The links between Era Motorsport and IDEC Sport do not start today since Nicolas Minassian, sporting director of the European champion team ELMS in 2019, had competed in the 24 Hours of Daytona (Florida) earlier in the year with the Tilley – Merriman tandem, with a 3rd place in the LM P2 category.

Former test pilot Williams in 2009, Jonathan Kennard had already competed in the double round of the clock at Sarthe in 2010 (In LM P2 at KSM).
