24 Hours of Le Mans – Sergey Sirotkin with SMP Racing

A new driver in the fold F1 will debut at 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2017. Third pilot of Renault Sport F1 Team, the Russian Sergey Sirotkin will ride on the Dallara P217 – Gibson n°27 LM P2 entered under the SMP Racing banner, and will team up with Mikhail Aleshin and Victor Shaytar.

“It was a tradition for us to take part in Le Mans with a Russian crew, comments Boris Rotenberg, founder and manager of the SMP Racing program. Even though we are focused on developing our LM P1 for 2018, we could not miss the most prestigious race on the planet.

Last year, for the first time in the history of this race, SMP Racing was on the podium. And this time I'm sure the guys will also try to do everything possible to win.

In addition, the crew will be racing on a Dallara car, with which we are building the LM P1 prototype for the next season. This will allow us to gather a lot of technical information needed for our work. »

If Mikhail Aleshin and Victor Shaytar, winner in GTE Am in 2015 and champion of the category the same year, have already experienced the Le Mans event, a major challenge awaits Sergey Sirotkin.
