24 Hours of Le Mans – A Ginetta withdraws, only 60 cars left at the start

The much-feared withdrawal of one of the two Ginetta G60 LT P1s has unfortunately been confirmed. One of the two British LM P1s will not be taking part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans (September 19-20). Boss Lawrence Tomlinson, who finances the program himself in the absence of having found a partner team, saw his various activities suffer from the Covid-19 crisis and was forced to scale back his ambitions.

Very bad news for the LM P1 category – which saw its contingent of entrants reduced from 7 to 6, and for the event in general, which will only have 60 competitors.

Among the other packages to be deplored, that of the No. 30 Riley Mk.12 from Rick Ware Racing, the No. 07 Oreca 20 from High Class Racing, the Ferrari 488 GTE n°81 from GEAR Racing – which had already made an astonishing migration from GTE Am to GTE Pro – and .

These withdrawals are therefore the business of the Oreca 07 n°27 of Dragon Speed (Ben Hanley-Henrik Hedman-Renger van der zande), the No. 488 Ferrari 60 GTE Evo of Iron Lynx (Claudio Schiavoni-Sergio Pianezzola-Andrea Piccini) and the Porsche 911 RSR No. 89 from Team Project 1 (only David Kolkmanne is announced for the moment), the first mentioned being expected in LM P2, the other two GTE Am.

Last reservist, theAston Martin Vantage AMR n°96 of D'Station Racing having thrown in the towel, the list of substitutes is empty and only 60 cars are now expected.
