24 Hours – Risi Competizione for the win

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the prancing horse brand, the team I laughed Competition would like to return Ferrari on the path to victory 24 Hours of Le Mans with the 488 GT. The American team is entering only one car for the Le Mans event, a unique case in the pro category this year. The trio of drivers announced with Giancarlo Fisichella, Pierre Kaffer et Tony Wilander remains one of the most experienced on the board.

« It will be a difficult race, comments Fisichella. The competition is tough with the other teams. I think it will be even harder than last year with the news Porsche which are very good. There is also Corvette which is returning to the highest level.

The small team had nevertheless achieved the feat of finishing second in the 2016 edition in the GT category, being the only Ferrari team capable of competing with the Fords. The Fisichella Vilander duo works well since they won twice in GTE Pro in 2012 and 2014 with AF Corse, and Pierre Kaffer was responsible for the GT2 title at Risi Competizione in 2009 with Jaime Melo and Mika Salo with the Ferrari F430.

« I am 100% confident that everyone on the team is ready and capable of winning this race, adds the German pilot. We have the car we need and we still have that little dose of luck that we always need in motorsport.

“It’s a tough category this year. We will do our best and I am sure that in the end we will be ready to win. »
