24 Hours of Le Mans – Fernando Alonso on a mission mid-race

José Maria Lopez sees the return of Fernando Alonso at the top of 24 Hours of Le Mans 2018, alors qu’est franchi le cap de la mi-course. L’Argentin, aligné sur la Toyota TS050 Hybrid n°7, perd graduellement son avance sur le double champion du monde F1, which returned to 1’21”, while the gap was 1’57” an hour earlier between the two LM P1s.

No change behind the two Japanese with the two Rebellion R13s n°3 and n°1 of Mathias Beche and Bruno Senna.

The LM P2 category does not offer any changes in its hierarchy with the No. 07 Oreca 26 – G-Drive Racing still in perfect control, currently driven by Roman Rusinov. The Russian precedes theAlpine A470 n°36 of Nicolas lapierre who has just passed Timothé Buret (Ligier JS P217 n°23 – Panis-Barthez Compétition).

Paul-Loup Chatin (Oreca n°48 – IDEC Sport) and Matthieu Vaxivière (Oreca n°28 – TDS Racing) complete the top 5.

Both Porsche 911 RSR n°92 de Michael Christensen et n°91 de Gianmaria Bruni dominent en GTE Pro, avec un écart relativement stable entre les deux GT de Weissach (1’53 »). Dirk Müller (Ford GT n°68) produit aussi son effort pour réduire l’écart avec la n°91, désormais de 43″.

Julien Andlauer easily leads in GTE Am with the No. 911 Porsche 77 RSR – Dempsey – Proton Racing.
