The Ford GT armada is in full force for the 2019 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Winner in 2016, for its return to Sarthe, the American brand will try to repeat its performance this season, in a GTE Pro category which should once again be very competitive.
If the Chip Ganassi Racing USA Ford GTs will logically be entrusted to the trios seen in IMSA with Sébastien Bourdais – Dirk Müller – Joey Hand (n°68) and Scott Dixon – Ryan Briscoe – Richard Westbrook (n°69), the identities of the third drivers on the cars entered for the year in WEC.
As we indicated to you in our columns in January, Olivier Pla and Stefan Mücke will be supported on the No. 66 by Billy Johnson, their usual teammate in Sarthe for several seasons, while Jonathan Bomarito, Mazda Team Joest driver in IMSA, will strengthen the Andy Priaulx – Harry Tincknell tandem on the No. 67.
Let us also remember that a Ford GT will be entered in GTE Am, for Keating Motorsports with Ben Keating, Jeroen Bleekemolen and Felipe Fraga.
