24 Hours of Le Mans – G-Drive Racing and TDS Racing appeal their exclusion

Excluded from the result of the Le Mans classic, the two entities decided to appeal Thursday afternoon to the International Automobile Federation (FIA).

24 Hours of Le Mans – G-Drive Racing and TDS Racing appeal their exclusion

Outright winner of the LM P2 category in the last 24 Hours of Le Mans (Sarthe) 2018, the G-Drive Racing Oreca 07 led by Jean-Eric Vergne – Andrea Pizzitola – Roman Rusinov, had been excluded the day after arrival for non-compliance with the fuel restrictor. The TDS Racing prototype, arriving at the foot of the podium (Duval – Perrodo – Vaxivière), suffered the same sanction.

Three days later, both teams decided to appeal this decision to the International Automobile Federation (FIA). A joint press release indicates that the two teams “consider that they have always complied with the applicable regulations and are really disappointed with the decisions of the commissioners »

“They now wish to present their arguments before the highest court of the FIA. No further comments will be made throughout the procedure. »
 

The final result of the LM P2 category therefore remains pending for an indefinite period. Victory could go toAlpine A470 n°36 – Signatech Alpine by Thiriet – Stone - negrao, the podium potentially being completed by the #07 Oreca 39 of Graff – SO24 of Gommendy – Hirschi – Capillaire and the #217 Ligier JS P32 – United Autosports of Montoya – of Sadeleer – Owen.
