The 17th hour of racing at Le Mans was marked by the accident of Ben Hanley at the wheel of the #1 Dragonspeed BR10. The Briton spun in the Bends Porsche and hit the wall of tires on the LM P1 which occupied fifth place in the category and 18th position in the general classification. The prototype of the American team is now in the garage but the abandonment has since been confirmed, the tenth in this 86th edition.
10th abandonment to deplore, that of the @DragonSpeedLLC #10 too damaged following its exit at the Porsche corner a little earlier.# LEMANS24 #WEC pic.twitter.com/ixfv549YOu

No changes at the forefront of the four categories. There Toyota n ° 8 of Sébastien Buemi still moving about 40 seconds ahead of the sister car of Mike conway, the two TS050 Hybrids having a lead of around ten laps over the Rebellions of Thomas Laurent and André Lotterer. G-Drive Racing remains in the lead in LM P2 with Roman Rusinov now at the wheel of the No. 07 Oreca 26.
The Porsche 911 RSRs still dominate the GTE Pro. Kévin Estre narrowly missed a collision with the Ligier JS P217 Eurasia Motorsport of Tracy Krohn which spun at Arnage. Matt Campbell remains in the lead of GTE Am in the No. 911 Dempsey-Proton Racing 77 RSR. The sister car #88 will not restart following an exit by Matteo Cairoli.
