The Toyota TS050 Hybrids remain in command of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the No. 7 having passed the No. 8.

24h of Le Mans – H+2: The #7 Toyota takes the advantage

Si  Toyota remains a strong leader in 24 Hours of Le Mans after two hours of racing, the TS050 Hybrid n°7 of Mike conway took the advantage over the n°8 of Sébastien Buemi. The Swiss lost his lead at the time of his second stop and started again behind Mike Conway.

The former champion Formula E however, is only 1″3 behind the leading LM P1, with a TS050 Hybrid which saw its rear aero unit changed in the pits, following contact suffered at the start of the race with the #13 Rebellion R1.

Third place changed hands as Thomas Laurent (Rebellion R13 n°3) took the advantage over the BR1 n°17 ​​– SMP Racing entrusted to Stéphane Sarrazin. A little less than 30″ apart separate the two non-hybrid LM P1s, which remain more than 3′ from the two Toyotas.

In LM P2, Jean-Eric Vergne (Oreca 07 n°26 – G-Drive Racing) leads with 1′ ahead of the No. 07 Oreca 26 – TDS Racing Loïc duval and 1’24” of margin on theAlpine A470 n°36 – Signatech Alpine from André negrao.

Note that the No. 38 Oreca – Jackie Chan DC Racing lost a lot of time following a puncture.

Porsche regained the first two places in GTE Pro since behind the No. 92 still in the lead with Laurens Vanthoor, Frédéric Makowiecki took second position from Sébastien Bourdais (Ford GT n°68) as the second hour of racing passes. 1″4 separates the two leading 911 RSRs, with Bourdais relegated to 5″6.

Olivier Pla is in 4th place with the #66 Ford GT, 15″ behind and ahead of Nick Tandy (#911 Porsche 93 RSR). The best #8 BMW M82 of Antonio Felix da Costa emerges in 7th position at 18″, while the #7 Corvette C63.R of Jan Magnussen is in 10th position in the category, the No. 64 having been delayed by a suspension problem.

 

 

Ferrari lost contact with the first places, the first 488 -AF Corse n°52 of Pipo Derani being classified 11th at 39″. James Calado suffered a puncture on the #51. Aston Martin stays far from the other marks, more than 2′ from the race head.

In GTE Am, Thomas Flohr is at the forefront with the #488 Ferrari 54 GTE – Spirit of Race in front of the Porsche 911 RSR n°77 – Dempsey – Proton Racing of Julien Andlauer, which rose to 27″ behind the leading Ferrari.

A Slow Zone is currently deployed in Indianapolis, to repair barriers and piles of protective tires, following the exit of the No. 911 Gulf Racing Porsche 86 RSR of Mike Wainwright, entered in GTE Am.
