6 Hours of Monza – H2: Glickenhaus calmly in the lead, the Peugeot No. 93 returns to the track

In the lead since the start of these 6 Hours of Monza, the 007 No. 708 from Glickenhaus continues on its merry way. The Peugeot N°93 left its stand after remaining there for many minutes.

6 Hours of Monza – H2: Glickenhaus calmly in the lead, the Peugeot No. 93 returns to the track

Everything is going well for Glickenhaus in Lombardy where the 6 Hours of Monza, scene of the 4e round of the 2022 season WEC. Starting in pole position, the 007 No. 708 from the American team is still leading the race after two relatively calm hours of racing.

Very comfortable on the transalpine route which seems to suit it well, the 007 No. 708 maintains its pace and continues to increase the gap. Driven by Pipo Derani, the American Hypercar seems well on its way to achieving its first victory in the WEC since the 2e car in the general classification, the Toyota GR010 N°7 clocks in at more than 30 seconds and cannot keep up the pace. Alpine for his part clings to his 3e place. Behind Glickenhaus and the No. 7 Toyota, the No. 480 A36 remains in ambush just under 40 seconds from the lead.

To Peugeot , these 6 Hours of Monza constitute another stage in its development program. After a complicated start to the race with an electronic failure and an early return to its garage, the 9X8 No. 93 was able to return to the track. It is the Scotsman Paul di Resta who is at the controls of the Sochalian Hypercar. Engulfed at the bottom of the ranking, the former Force India driver in Formula 1 will mainly ride to collect data for the last two rounds of the season in Fuji (Japan) and Bahrain. Regarding 2e Peugeot's hypercar, the 9X8 No. 94, has not yet experienced any technical problems. She points to 5e general's rank more than a minute from the Glickenhaus.

Battle in LMP2

Already in control of the LMP2 category after the 1st hour of the race, the No. 07 United Autosports Oreca 22 remains on course. At the wheel, however, Felipe Albuquerque cannot rest since the No. 42 of Realteam by WRT led by Ferdinand Habsburg is right on his heels. Barely a second separates the two men at the end of the 2e of the 6 hours of racing. Prema N°9 shows up at 4 seconds.

In GTE Pro, everything works for Ferrari. While the 488 GTE Evo No. 51 still leads the debates, the sister car, the No. 52, has moved up to 2e place in front of the Porsche 911 RSR-19 No. 92 while Corvette C8.RN No. 64 fell to 4e after having fought for a time with the Italians.
