6 Hours of Spa – Andlauer, Estre, Milesi… The reactions of the French in Hyperpole

Julien Andlauer (Proton Competition), 3th in the Hyperpole: « This is our best qualifying result since the start of the year, we had a lot of difficulty in Qatar and in Imola throughout the pre-race preparation because there was always a small problem on the right, on the left on the car that was putting us behind schedule during testing. There, for once, we were able to do all three sessions and therefore also complete our entire program. Which meant that we arrived a little more prepared in qualifying. I hope it will pay off in the race. This remains the most important thing, this is where we can score and hope for a podium. We will start the race with the tools at our disposal, we will try to pay attention to tire degradation as well as energy management. »

A small mistake for Kévin Estre

Kévin Estre (Porsche), 5th in the Hyperpole: « We could do a little better, we see it with the sister car which is second. Matt (Campbell) did a great job while I made a little mistake in turn 12 which caused me to lose two, three tenths, which took us from P2 to P6. There's the Ferrari which puts five tenths on everyone, but behind it is very close. Qualifying is important to start in the group at the front and show everyone that we can be fast on a lap, but we win in Qatar starting from fifth position. So there are things to do, even starting sixth. I would have preferred to be a little further ahead despite everything, even for me personally, it annoys me, frustrates me, but that's how it is. »

First appearance in Hyperpole for Alpine

Charles Milesi (Alpine), 7th of the Hyperpole: « It was the first time this weekend that we tried the Softs on our car, so the balance was relatively different than with the Mediums that we have been working on since the start of the weekend and at Imola, so we knew a little better the window of this tire. We were a bit blind with the Soft and we especially knew that with this very soft tire, on such an abrasive circuit, we would potentially only have one attempt. It's very tight, by gaining two tenths we go P5 or P6. Overall, it remains a good experience and it prepares us even more for Le Mans where we will probably have the Softs at some point in the race. We had an engine failure at the end, we don't really know the reason, we'll see for tomorrow. It was a bit unexpected, but that's motorsport. »

Start of the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps at 13:00 p.m. this Saturday.
