6H of Spa – Fuoco places Ferrari on pole ahead of Porsche and Cadillac

Antonio Fuoco scored a second pole position in a row this season after Imola by being the fastest in qualifying at Spa. He beat Matt Campbell (Porsche) and Alex Lynn (Cadillac).

  • Antonio Fuoco took pole position for the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, third round of the 2024 FIA season WEC. Already the fastest at Imola, the Italian placed his Ferrari at the top of the timesheet during the Hyperpole of the 6 Hours of Spa this Friday.
  • The Transalpine rider was half a second ahead of Qatar's pole-sitter, Matt Campbell (Porsche n°5), and Alex Lynn, the pleasant surprise of this session at the wheel of the n°2 Cadillac. The American manufacturer matches its best qualifying performance set at the 8 Hours of Bahrain at the end of last season.
  • Julien Andlauer produced a great performance by lifting the No. 99 Proton Competition Porsche to fourth place, 0.714 seconds from the lead. Callum Ilott completed the top 5 at the wheel of the No. 12 Hertz Team JOTA Porsche, ahead of Kévin Estre (No. 6 Porsche).
  • The first Toyota is only 7th with Brendon Hartley, 0.972 from first place.
  • The session ended under a yellow flag after a problem occurred on theAlpine No. 35 by Charles Milesi, who stopped at the side of the track. The French prototype will start from 8th position. This remains the best qualification for A arrow this season.

Hyperpole ranking – 6H de Spa:

  • Some surprises took place during the first phase of qualifying, with the eliminations of James Calado (Ferrari n°51, 11th), Kamui Kobayashi (Toyota n°7, 15th) and Phil Hanson (Porsche Hertz Team JOTA n°38, 18th).
  • Qualification attendant this weekend, Mick Schumacher failed to qualify theAlpine n°36 in Hyperpole. The German achieved the 12th time.
  • Both Peugeot were also eliminated with the 14th time for Mikkel Jensen and the 16th time for Loïc duval.
  • Unsurprisingly, Lamborghini and Isotta Fraschini remained at the dock.
  • See you at 13:00 p.m. this Saturday for the start of the 6 Hours of Spa.

Those eliminated in Q1 – 6H of Spa:

  • In the LMGT3 category, Sarah Bovy stood out in front of her audience by taking pole position in the category at the wheel of the #85 Iron Dames Lamborghini. The Belgian dominated the session with 0.337 seconds ahead of Joshua Caygill (McLaren United Autosports n°95) and 0.383 seconds ahead of Ahmad Al Harthy (BMW WRT n°46).
