6H Imola: TDS Racing hits hard with Beche

Oreca is absent as a team at Imola, but its prototypes are still at the forefront of the LMP2 category. The No. 46 Oreca of TDS Racing (M. Beche / P. Thiriet / J. Firth) won pole thanks to an impressive time from Mathias Beche, who beat the No. 45 Oreca of Boutsen Energy Racing (D. Kraihamer / N. De Crem).

The LMP2 pole-sitter says he is delighted with the performance of his car, as well as the work accomplished by the French team. “I am very happy with this pole”, confides Mathias Beche. “I didn't drive much in the dry and we took advantage of qualifying to make some changes to the settings. I thank TDS Racing for all the work provided. The ORECA 03 is always easy to fly. It is a healthy car which, even when you have not driven much on a circuit that you are discovering, allows you to achieve a performance like today. »

However, Mathias Beche, like all the other drivers, expects a very complicated race. 49 cars will be at the start of a 6-hour race on a 4,909 km circuit. “It will certainly be the most difficult race in terms of traffic, not to mention the heat. The level of concentration should be high. We expect a great competition tomorrow. »
