The Spaniard wins the 6 Hours of Spa after the application of team instructions at the end of the event; Ford takes victory in GTE Pro thanks to an overtake from Olivier Pla.

Alonso returns to winning ways at Spa

For his first participation in the World ChampionshipEndurance, Fernando Alonso (Toyota) récolte les lauriers de la victoire en compagnie de Sébastien Buemi et Kazuki Nakajima. The other Toyota prototype, driven by Mike conway, José Maria Lopez and Kamui Kobayashi, finishes at a second and a half. However, the staff of the Japanese team voluntarily froze the positions after the last pit stop.

The G-Drive team, invited to Spa as well as to 24 Hours of Le Mans dominated the LM P2 category notably thanks to a Jean-Eric Vergne overexcited. L'Alpine of the Signatech team finished in third place, more than twenty seconds behind the #8 Jackie Chan DC Racing. However, the race was restarted shortly before the last hour by the accident (not serious) of Matevos Isaakyan (SMP Racing) at the top of Raidillon, which had the effect of tightening the positions with the safety car.

En catégorie GTE Pro, Ford a débordé Porsche à l’entame de la dernière heure. Olivier Pl also carried out a magnificent overtaking maneuver on Richard Lietz (Porsche) at Raidillon. Stefan Mücke and Billy Johnson accompany him on the podium. As for Richard Lietz, he also lost his duel against Michael Christensen (Porsche) as well as Davide Rigon (Ferrari).

The GTE Am dedicated the Lamy-Lauda-Dalla Lana trio aboard theAston Martin Old generation Vantage. Julien Andlauer (Dempsey Proton Racing's Porsche 911 RSR) finished sixth after suffering mechanical problems.
