To find traces of Signatech Alpine in LMP2, we have to go back to the 8 Hours of Bahrain 2020. At the time, the French structure was competing in its last race in the category before making the jump to Hypercar. A little over two years later, she is back in the second division of the Prototype while awaiting the birth of her LMDh scheduled for 2024.

If it is only a passage of a season, Alpine does not in any way neglect this category where it was crowned in 2016. It is for this reason that the Dieppe firm attaches great importance to the Sebring Prologue, which enters two Oreca 07s and welcomes new drivers like Olli Caldwell, former representative of the academy in F2, or Memo Rojas.

« Sebring always represents a huge challenge to start a new season, even more so by rediscovering a category as competitive as LMP2 as we are doing this year, highlights the main team Philippe Sinault. Beyond its rich history, its unique atmosphere and its status on the North American continent, this first meeting marks our return to the United States twelve months after our historic success. This year, the context will obviously be different. We must take advantage of the Prologue to continue the work started in Portimão, whether in defining the settings, the chemistry of our crews as well as the study of the tires. Our driving has been limited this winter, so we must make the most of each lap on this particular playing field in order to readjust to the track and its specificities."

To successfully complete this rehabilitation project in a category that it has not tasted for over two years, Alpine will be able to rely on executives such as Matthieu Vaxiviere or Charles Milesi. “ We have the advantage of having five drivers who already have experience at Sebring and I have no doubt about Olli's rapid acclimatization., continues Philippe Sinault. However, the level of LMP2 is so high that it will be important to be in the running from the start on this grueling track for men and machines, even more than Le Mans, to prepare well for this first test. We will have to respond and the entire team is back in working order to achieve our performance and reliability objectives. We're all looking forward to getting down to business! »

Alpine now has two days of driving to fine-tune his Oreca 07 as best as possible because the start of the season comes the following weekend on the same Sebring track (March 17) where it will be necessary to be competitive from the start!
