Alpine confirms Thiriet for the Super Season

The ACO conference held this Friday at Rétromobile in Paris revealed the entry lists for WEC Super Season and 24 Hours of Le Mans. Signatech-Alpine thus confirmed the crew of A470 No. 36 registered for the entire season.

In accordance with the forecast list published in AUTO n°2151hebdo, Pierre Thiriet will join Philippe Sinault's stable, playing alongside the regulars Nicolas lapierre et Andre Negro. The former G-Drive Racing driver will take the place of Gustavo Menezes.

“Since the end of the 2017 season, we have gone back to work to prepare and optimize our participation in the next FIA World Championship WEC, comments Philippe Sinault. We are very happy to be entered again with an efficient and coherent crew. »

“Nicolas Lapierre remains the pillar and ensures continuity for the technical team. During his first season with us, André Negrão really revealed himself, to the point of receiving Gold driver status. We complete the crew with Pierre Thiriet, an excellent Silver driver with whom we have wanted to work for a long time. Compared to previous seasons, we will be able to capitalize on our experience, since we will continue with equipment identical to 2017. This will allow us to save a lot of time in fine-tuning the car on the different circuits. Our goal will be to win back the titles! »

SIgnatech-Alpine will be keen to succeed in Sarthe on June 16 and 17 since the 2018 edition will mark the 40th anniversary of the victory of the French brand in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
