Alpine in the rhythm despite the worries

Signatech-Alpine finished in the lead car of the LMP2s in the Prologue of the WEC in Monza (Italy) played last weekend. Nelson Panciatici set the 5th fastest time with a time of 1'36''559 at the wheel of the No. 470 A35, while Romain Dumas followed in 6th place in the No. 36 sister car.

“This weekend was not easy for the team. We experienced some small technical problems, which is legitimate on new cars, commented Philippe Sinault, Team Principal of Signatech-Alpine, which runs rebadged Oreca 07s. We can see how tight the level is, with ten cars regularly within the same second and six LMP2s capable of setting the best time on a lap. We are satisfied with the work carried out by our pilots, especially those with whom we began our collaboration. »

Dumas is acclimatizing well

Après avoir été débarqué du programme Porsche, Romain Dumas s’est bien acclimaté à sa nouvelle équipe où il visera le titre LMP2 après avoir conquis le sacre mondial l’an dernier.

“These two days allowed me to really discover the car, the technical team and my teammates, commented the Alésien who will play with Matt Rao and Gustavo Menezes. It's a good start, even if brake problems cost me some driving time. The team nevertheless demonstrated its ability to react to correct this point and that gives me confidence. It was only during my last run that I was able to attack and I had a lot of fun. This demonstrates that theAlpine A470 is a good base. We must continue to work! »

“The weekend went well, added Nelson Panciatici, the teammate of Pierre Ragues and André negrao. We took the time to work on the riding position before riding a little harder this Sunday. But as it was only our first run with the car, we weren't looking for performance as much as the other crews. The conditions also allowed us to ride in the rain and at night, which could come in handy at one point or another! »

Signatech-Alpine will seek to defend its title acquired last year in a field that only has one chassis left.
