Rookie Test – Sébastien Ogier completed his first laps in Endurance

Sébastien Ogier made his Endurance debut this Sunday during the Rookie Test in Bahrain. Lilou Wadoux and Charles Milesi also took part in this day of testing.

Rookie Test – Sébastien Ogier completed his first laps in Endurance

Less than 24 hours after the final race of the 2021 WEC season, many drivers had an appointment this Sunday for the Rookie Test, still on the Sakhir track in Bahrain. Sole representative ofAlpine to take the wheel of the A480, Nicolas lapierre distinguished himself by dominating the timesheet, both morning and afternoon.

With 96 laps covered throughout the day, the Frenchman set the best time with a time of 1'48"697 during the morning session before doubling the lead in the afternoon with a 1'48"875 . On the sheet, Nicolas Lapierre successively outstripped the Toyota with the N°7 in 2nd position and the N°8 in 3rd this morning before the places are reversed in the afternoon.

Headlining this end-of-season Rookie Test, Sébastien Ogier was finally able to hit the track behind the wheel of the Toyota GR010 after completing simulator sessions in Cologne (Germany). Obviously followed, the Gapençais finished the first session with a best time of 1'50"647 before signing a 1'51"189 in the afternoon for 5th place in the standings.

Also present aboard a Toyota GR010, Charles Milesi, champion with WRT in LMP2, only took to the track this Sunday morning. There, the young 20-year-old driver completed 31 laps for a best time of 1'49"636, just over 9 tenths off Nicolas Lapierre's benchmark. A performance which allowed him to rank 4th just ahead of Sébastien Ogier.

Present aboard the No. 07 Oreca 31 of Team WRT, Sophia Floersch made her mark by signing the best references of the day in LMP2. During the first session, the German clocked 1'51"221 before improving her mark in the afternoon with a 1'50"870. Double W Series champion, Jamie Chadwick, also discovered Endurance with the LM P2 of the Richard Mille Racing Team, like the young Frenchwoman Lilou Wadoux. “I really liked it, it was a great experience and I discovered a lot of things”, declared the latter after her first laps in Endurance.

In GTE Pro, the best time of the day went to Kevin Estre on the Porsche 911 RSR N°91 with a mark of 1'57"583 ahead of Alessandro Pier Guidi on his Ferrari 488 GTE-Evo N°51 of only 52 thousandths.
