Alpine praises Schumacher's integration: “Mick loves the spirit of Endurance”

Mick Schumacher will be one of the attractions of the new season of WEC, which opens with the 1812 km of Qatar on March 2, 2024 in Losail.
Recruited by Alpine for his new project Endurance, the son of the seven-time world champion Formula 1 Michael will share one of the two A424s aligned by the A arrow for Nicolas lapierre, Matthieu Vaxiviere, Charles Milesi, Paul-Loup Chatin, and Ferdinand Habsburg.
During a recent round table, Lapierre was able to discuss the adaptation of the old pilot Haas F1 Team to his new life. “ Everything is going well so far, commented the Frenchman. It's obviously a big change for him which comes from the Single seat.
He has this desire to learn Endurance. He loves it. He likes to share the car with other racers. It has performed very well in the two tests we have been able to conduct together so far.
Of course, the piece de resistance will arrive with traffic and race management. The opening round in Qatar will serve as his express training.
As far as pace is concerned, he's on target, but we expected that given his pedigree. The main thing is that Mick loves the spirit of Endurance. »
Philippe Sinault, team principal of the team Alpine in Endurance, is also under the spell of the reservist Mercedes.
« Naturally, I knew Mick through his Single-Seater career. (champion F3 Europe in 2018, crowned in Formula 2 FIA in 2020. Editor’s note), but I had never met him personally before he tested with us, Sinault told during a recent media session. It’s a great meeting. I discovered an excellent driver, as you might expect, but also a great guy.
He is ready to take on the challenge, to share a car with teammates. He may be new to the world of endurance, but he is used to being involved in very high-level programs through his F1 experience. He will be able to respond when the time comes in Qatar. »
