Aston Martin confirms Dalla Lana – Turner – Gunn trio in GTE Am

Aston Martin Racing has confirmed the change to the crew of the #98 Vantage entered in GTE Am in the WEC, with the arrivals of Darren Turner and Ross Gunn alongside Paul Dalla Lana.

It was a trio that seemed immutable withinAston Martin Racing. Titled together in 2017 in GTE Am, Pedro Lamy, Mathias Lauda and Paul DallaLana will no longer perform in concert in 2019-2020, only the last one returning to the seat of the No. 98 Vantage.

The American will be supported by one of the big names in the Aston Martin fold in the person of Darren turneras Ross Gunn, already seen in GTE in 2017 in ELMS, will swap the GT3 version of the Vantage that he drove in recent years for the GTE launched in 2018.

I was very comfortable in the car in Barcelona during the Prologue and I feel that we can, with Darren and Paul, play our card in the championship and fight for a podium at Silverstone. »

The stated objective is to regain the GTE Am crown, facing a peloton which strengthened in the off-season. “We enter the new season with a trio of drivers determined not only to regain the championship title won in 2017 but also to try to achieve that class victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, underlines Dalla Lana.

I would like to pay tribute to my former teammates Pedro Lamy and Mathias Lauda, ​​who have been brilliant over the years. They helped us win so much as a team and the 2017 title is the highlight of my career.

Darren is the team's most successful GT driver. He has the pace and experience to guide us, while Ross is very fast and very talented. »

Aston Martin has also confirmed continuity in its Pro crews with the tandems Nicki Thiim – Marco Sorensen and Maxime Martin – Alex Lynn.
