Aston Martin unveils its new Vantage GTE

Three days after the final round of WEC 2017, Aston Martin Racing has unveiled its new Vantage GTE. Designed and designed in the Banbury premises, it is the result of a project headed by technical director Dan Sayers, to whom we already owe the V8 Vantage GTE, which has scored 37 victories in the WEC in all categories combined.

« Designing and developing this new car was very enjoyable, underlines the latter. We worked closely with the parent company to develop the road version and the racing car in parallel. We made great progress in all areas and used every available second until the test model was built and we are currently reaping the dividends during our tests. »

Under the hood, we find a supercharged V8 with 4,0 liters of original displacement. Mercedes. Another change to note is the replacement of Dunlop by Michelin as tire manufacturer. Aesthetically, in any case, the English one looks good.

If it had only been presented today, the new Vantage GTE would have already covered no less than 13 kilometers, including a conclusive 000-hour test on the Navarra circuit, in Spain. She was also seen in Sebring. According to the pilots, it is easier to carry than its ancestor.

At the wheel, Darren Turner, Jonny Adam, Nicki Thiim and Marco Sorensen have been retained and are joined by Briton Alex Lynn, in accordance with what we revealed to you in October (see Ah n°2136).
