Aston Martin changes its crews

If the Vantage V8s have been very discreet since the start of the season, Aston Martin is, after the 24 Hours of Le Mans, leading the GT Manufacturers' Championship with 112 points on the clock against 103 Ferrari and 98 at Ford. So to optimize its chances of winning the world title, the British firm made the decision to modify its crews lined up in GTE Pro. Changes effective from the next round, the 6 Hours of the Nürburgring (July 24).

Previously registered on the No. 95 with the Danes Nicki Thiim and Marco Sørensen, Darren Turner moves to the No. 97. The Briton joins New Zealander Richie Stanaway on the latter, whose former teammates, Fernando Rees and Jonathan Adam, are sidelined.

« We had to think about what was best for the team, said team principal Paul Howarth. This should give us the best chance of success this year. I'm counting on Nicki, Marco, Darren and Richie to continue to push hard in order to keep us at the top of the rankings. »

In GTE Am, the No. 8 Vantage V98 will still be entrusted to Paul Dalla Lana, Mathias Lauda and Pedro Lamy.
