Audi leads first tests in Austin

Audi signed the first time reference to the tests for the 6 Hours of the Circuit of the Americas in Austin (Texas). Oliver Jarvis set the best time with a lap completed in 1'48''453 on the R18 n°8, preceding the pace by less than half a tenth. Porsche 919 Hybrid n°2 by Neel Jani. The second Audi entrusted to André Lotterer followed four tenths behind the Porsche n°1 of Timo Bernhard.

The Toyota are once again behind the German LMP1s. Mike conway placed the first TS050 nine tenths of the reference while Sébastien Buemi finished 1”2 behind on #5.

René Rast once again distinguished himself by setting the benchmark time for LMP2 with a time of 1'57''000 achieved at the wheel of the G-Drive Racing Oreca 05. Nelson Panciatici was the closest on the No. 460 A35, but the pilot Alpine still gave the German more than six tenths. Richard Bradley completed the top three in the category on Manor's Oreca 05, preceding second Alpine by Stéphane Richelmi.

In GTE Pro, Stefan Mücke was the fastest. The driver of the No. 66 Ford GT set a time of 2'05''457 to beat the lead by a tenth. Ferrari 488 n°52 from AF Corse by Gianmaria Bruni. The second Ferrari from the Italian team finished more than three tenths behind with Davide Rigon at the wheel. Ricky Taylor set the benchmark time for GTE Am with a time of 2'07''412 in the Larbre Compétition Corvette C7 R.
