Audi takes the lead in FP1

Si Porsche this morning, set the best time in the collective tests organized as a preamble to the 6 Hours of Mexico, Audi did not take long to respond to its false brother from the VW group. Thanks to a time of 1'26"705, the #18 R7 of Marcel Fässler-André Lotterer-Benoît Tréluyer was the fastest in the first free practice session, ahead of the #0 of the trio by 194"8 Lucas di Grassi-Loïc duval-Oliver Jarvis.

The two Porsche 919 Hybrids are not left behind, since the No. 1 of Bernhard-Hartley-Webber and the No. 2 of Dumas-Jani-Lieb follow at 0 and 243 respectively. Alone Toyota on track after the setbacks encountered by the n°6 this morning, the TS050 Hybrid n°5 of Buemi-Nakajima (Davidson is out) is fifth at 1”196.

In LM P2, the No. 05 Oreca 44 from Manor rose to the top of the hierarchy in 1'36"755. The Toledano Jr-Bradley-Rao combination precedes the No. 2 Ligier JS P31 of Extreme Speed ​​Motorsports and the No. 05 Oreca 26 of G-Drive Racing. The top quartet is completed by Signatech Alpine, who leads the championship.

In GTE Pro, no competitor has yet really tried to tease the clock. The category was dominated byAston Martin n°95 by Thiim-Sorensen, credited with a lap in 1'40"685. Follow the Ferrari 488 n°51, the second Aston Martin and the first Ford GT, the n°66 from Mücke-Pla.

Finally, the Gulf Racing Porsche 911 RSR showed off in GTE Am by completing a lap in 1'43"027. The Abu Dhabi-Proton Racing 911 RSR and the No. 98 Aston Martin complete the top three.

The second free practice session is scheduled for today at 1 a.m. French time.
