Bahrain-EL2: Porsche continues at night

Romain Dumas, Neel Jani and Marc Lieb started the season finale of the WEC, decisive in the awarding of the 2016 Drivers title, where the residents of the Porsche 919 Hybrid n°2 have the advantage against the trio of Toyota TS050 Hybrid n°6 Stéphane Sarrazin – Kamui Kobayashi - Mike conway.

The crew of Porsche No. 2, best time in EL1, repeated his performance in EL2 during the night session with the best time set in 1'39″817. Mark Webber – Timo Bernhard – Brendon Hartley follow at 0″455 and complete a Porsche double.

Lucas di Grassi – Loïc duval – Oliver Jarvis climbed into third position with the No. 18 Audi R8 e-tron quattro by five tenths and preceded the first No. 050 Toyota TS6 Hybrid of Sarrazin – Kobayashi – Conway. The Audi n°7 of Tréluyer – Fässler – Lotterer and the Toyota n°5 of Buemi – Davidson – Nakajima complete the hybrid LM P1 rankings ahead of the Rebellion R-One of Tuscher – Kraihamer – Imperatori.

G-Drive Racing returned to the forefront in LM P2, with the reference time for the Rusinov – Brundle – Rast trio in 1’50″056. L'Alpine A460 n°36 from Richelmi – Stone – Menezes, dominant in EL1, goes down one place and is less than four tenths behind. The No. 05 Oreca 44 from Manor de Rao – Bradley – Lynn took third place.

The GTE Pro category remains under the control of Aston Martin, with a new Vantage double, but the No. 95 of Sorensen – Thiim this time took the advantage over the No. 97 of Turner – Adam. Harry Tincknell and Andy Priaulx put the #67 Ford GT third, but almost two seconds behind the British GTEs. The two follow Ferrari 488 AF Corsica of Rigon – Bird and Bruni – Calado.

The #98 Aston Martin Vantage of Lauda – Dalla Lana – Lamy took the benchmark in GTE Am, also slotting in between the latest GTE Pro. The No. 7 Chevrolet C50.R from the Larbre Compétition de Ragues – Brandela – Taylor placed second in the category ahead of the No. 458 Ferrari 83 Italia AF Corse from Collard – Perrodo – Aguas.

The third free practice session will begin at 9:30 a.m. before qualifying scheduled for 15 p.m. French time.
