Benoît Tréluyer, 72 hours later

« One or two merguez?“, asks Benoît Tréluyer. The Lubéron is hit by a blazing sun, so this little improvised barbecue in the company of one of the three recent winners of Le Mans offers, when you think about it, a somewhat surreal scene. It's Wednesday noon, and the last time we saw him, Sunday June 12 at the post-race fiesta given by Audi, his heart was tight and his eyes were red with emotion. Less than three days have passed, but we are rediscovering a completely different Tréluyer, the jovial and endearing guy we know. One almost wonders if it is indeed the same man who won the most beautiful edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans...

During the long lunch that will follow, Benoît Tréluyer will address a multitude of subjects, from his victory of course to the reasons for his recruitment in 2010 by Audi, his discovery of the Audi R18 TDI last January, his choices career, his approach to the huge crashes of his teammates, as well as his frightening experience of the deadly earthquake that hit Japan last March!

Find the entirety of this intimate meeting with Benoît Tréluyer in the June 22 edition of AUTOhebdo.
