Benoît Treluyer presents his end-of-year wishes

Benoît Treluyer addresses his fans and sends his wishes for the end of year celebrations. The opportunity for him to look back on his crazy year, marked in particular by his title of world champion ofEndurance (WEC) and victory at 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Benoît Treluyer’s wishes:

« These last few weeks have been the craziest with many ceremonies and marketing events to honor for Audi thanks to our victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and our title of FIA World Endurance Champion.

I took great pleasure in meeting all these friendly faces and reliving our triumphs on video in such a warm atmosphere. Each new broadcast of the most intense moments experienced by the team, whether it be its efforts, its hard work, its joys, each time had the same emotional charge. With André (Lotterer) and Marcel (Fässler), we really appreciated these strong images while achieving what we managed to achieve this year. It might be strange, but in a way we impressed ourselves a little.

Once again, with André and Marcel, we were able to share all these ceremonies together, as united under the spotlights as in the heart of the Le Mans classic. This sharing made all these events even more memorable.

Obviously, the three ceremonies had very different atmospheres. The FIA ​​Gala was more… ceremonial! It was the first time I wore a tuxedo and, although I didn't feel very comfortable at first, I got used to it pretty quickly. The WEC evening was less solemn while the one organized by Audi looked more like a family celebration. In fact, it went from strength to strength: very calm and sober with the FIA, less stuffy with the WEC and more unbridled with Audi. We celebrated with the whole team before and after the ceremony itself but, as we had a photoshoot at 9am the next day, we had to be careful with the champagne! This time, there is no question of a triple relay...

As far back as I can remember, I have never been busier in my entire career. I have never traveled so much, carried out public relations operations and taken part in official dinners. But I'm not complaining. It was a wonderful December. This year, Santa came a little early for us. It is a shame that I was not able to respond to all the invitations received but, each time, I was there with my heart.

I would like to thank all the fans who supported us so strongly during the season. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a fantastic 2013. I hope to see so many of you next year on the slopes with the hope that your support will help us repeat the same successes as this season. I would also like to thank Doctor Ullrich and Audi who have just renewed my contract for 2013. I owe them a lot and I will once again do everything in my power to represent the brand as best as possible.

I cannot conclude without having a special thought for Dindo Capello who was a great servant of the team. He has decided to retire and I would like to wish him all the best for the future. We only shared three seasons with him, but they were all more wonderful than the last. He is and will remain someone very special... Dindo, we miss you already! »
