With an M3 still on the podium since the start of the season, BMW currently occupies the lead in the Manufacturers' standings in GTE Pro before the 4th round this weekend at Imola. A week after finishing second in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, the Munich firm wants to continue its impressive series of podiums in Italy.
“After our two 24 Hour races (Le Mans and the Nürburgring, editor’s note), Imola is our next challenge, explains team manager Charly Lamm. This year, our team has always finished on the podium, and we want to continue this streak. »
“It is true that we don?t have much rest, but for us pilots it?s fantastic, continues Jörg Müller. Every lap spent behind the wheel of the BMW M3 is a real pleasure. After our second place at the Nürburgring, I hope we will be able to bring back another good result from Italy. We fully intend to consolidate BMW's leadership position in the Manufacturers' standings, and take the lead in the Teams' standings. These six hours of racing promise to be exciting. »
At the wheel of two cars struck by the propeller, we will find the duo Dirk Werner-Augusto Farfus on the No. 55, and the pair Pedro Lamy-Dirk Werner at the wheel of the No. 56.
