This new BoP aims to refine the data of each car entered in Hypercar or LMGT3. In the queen category, it is the Peugeot 9X8 which offers the greatest slimming treatment, with fourteen kilos less on the scale. Now weighing 1037 kg, the Lioness weighs the same as the Cadillac and the BMW. But this trio still displays a certain extra weight of seven kilos compared to the lightest car, the Lamborghini SC63, which loses nine kilos. Reverse path for Toyota GR010, victorious in Brazil during the last round to date. It will in fact weigh five kilos more in Austin, reaching a weight of 1065 kilos, which is the highest in the category.
The Japanese car is also the hardest hit in terms of available power up to 250 km/h, since it loses 9 kW, now going to 497. It is rare or even unprecedented to arrive at a power figure this low since the arrival of the Hypercar category in 2021. The Toyota will, however, benefit from a power gain of 4,8% above 250 km/h, which could help it in the long straight of return from the Circuit of the Americas. The energy data available per relay are very similar from stable to stable, with 901 kJ for the Ferrari, which is the least richly endowed, and 908 for the Lamborghini, which will have the most energy.
As for LMGT3, it was mainly on the weight of the cars that BoP's biggest modifications were focused, the Porsche now taking 15 kilos more, where some of its opponents, the BMW and the Corvette in particular, lost 14 kilos. Lamborghini is also affected by this weight loss, with 13 kilos less on the scale. These data should be added to those of the Success Ballast, a more or less important ballast system depending on the performance of the individual cars at each event. Here too, it is Porsche which displays the greatest excess weight, with 30 kilos more for the No. 92, and 25 for the No. 91.
